And that's why a Mormon will NEVER be President of the United States, but they might be interested in Saudi-Arabia (LOL!). That show is the worst thing I have ever seen on TV.

I think this show is amazingly entertaining whether it is factual or not, and for people who are so easily offended and wish everything to be so PC should just not watch HBO! Great show

Pluses: A huge number of (very well-done) acting parts for women of all ages. This is the lifestyle of the average suburbanite only more so. A sitcom with satire. Draws a clear line between Mormons and a tiny splinter sect (eventually). Surprising subplots. Some very funny scenes. Minuses: You are watching someone else's wet dream, a fantasy of life with a harem. Main guy's real wife has allowed polygamy because she had cancer & was afraid of losing him -- an ugly plot devise. He's not much to look at, which makes it rather implausible. The lengths the creators go to to show underpants -- always white -- preferably on little girls -- makes one queasy. It has a very strong pornographic element without (so far) any desire from any of the women for other MEN, even from afar, even on TV, or at church, or from memory! Wrong planet!!
  • Only in it for.....

  • Accurate? Not entirely. But it

Is Big Love 100% accurate? Of course it isn't. But it does contain a lot of factual content. Whenever I watch it, I'm enthralled with how accurately it depicts the cultural constraints of living within religious walls and the frustrations involoved with trying to separate religion from family. Are Friends, 24, Sex and the City, The Sopranos, and Law and Order 100% accurate? Of course they are not. But these shows tap into an essence of reality, whether we understand it or not. And to many of us, they are still entertaining programs. I'm giving Big Love 5 stars, because it's thoroughly entertaining and strange. It taps into the reality I experienced during my 26 years of living in Utah. And I LOVE it.
