interesting story, but predictable and cheesy. For instance, when the creeper and the "blonde" somewhat reconcile - the music is very sappy and obvious. Overly sentimental and painfully slow. The MSNBC 45 minute version is much more interesting.

The story is certainly compelling, but it is narrated by a voice that's supposed to be the boy who was killed. It feels a little exploitative to pretend that a dead kid is narrating this documentary, considering that it's not supposed to be fiction. Also, the way it progresses does a good job of keeping the audience interested, but this film walks the line between journalism and sensationalism.

I bought this to show my sons to show the dangers of talking to strangers on the internet. It is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. No wonder it is award winning. Very powerful!

A fascinating subject and case, clouded by poor choices in its execution. The narration by one of its dead subjects does not help. Often, you will not know if the images you are seeing are part of the case file or whatever seemed apt to use by the producers. Do not be fooled by the slick packaging of the website and trailer. But, of course, see it and judge by yourself if you do not mind a few dollars and some time wasted.

This is one of the most brilliant documentaries I have ever seen! The editing is fantastic and the story is really, really interesting. It's frightening what people can do on the internet and how a stranger can end up being your partner in life or a cold blooded killer. There are so many twists within this story and it's a very sad story as well. A life was lost, unfortunately, but it did serve as a huge wake up call to everyone. The internet is amazing, but can also be very dangerous! Just a reiveting and captivating piece of work! 5 out of 5 stars

Simple and literal-minded in it's execution this "documentary" is at best mildy informative and certainly overly sentimental. The writer dodges great opportunity to explore complex issues of sorely misunderstood neurological conditions to deal with weapy notions of lurking vague "evil". This could've been great, totally misses the mark. RENT IF YOU'RE ALERGIC TO THINKING.

From the reviews already submitted, I thought I would be renting a groundbreaking doco. True, this is a sad story but better suited as a DatelineNBC primetime piece than anything else. Schroeder did a good job of stretching this story into an hour of film but there is nothing riveting to be found here.

Masterful.. Even if you dont like documentaries. Dont get scared of the internet, use common sense. Very well done, but take it for what it is, a wake up call (to use an over-used cliche). Everyone really should watch this film, it is very educational for upper teens, and adults. It is a weee bit over the edge for young teens though.

Fantastic documentary and cautionary tale about the dangers of internet fantasies. Riveting to watch and well worth the time.
