what is he trying to DO?

a beautifully produced series, for sure. the plots are complex and believable. but i am having a really hard time trying to figure out what Brannagh is trying to portray. he is alternately ill, depressed, confused, manic. i keep wondering what police force in their right mind would want this guy around. he's like House, only clinically depressed. with a gun. i'm still trying to get my brain around the diabetic angle. is the bizarre non-treatment he's getting supposed to be part of the reason he looks so ill all the time? are we to infer that? who knows. i suppose i would say that this series is for people who enjoy enigmatic good acting and like looking at a cop who is a walking train wreck.

Henning Mankell put the brooding, moody Scandinavian crime novel on the map. He and Jo Nesbø really opened the world's eyes to the genre and were writing long before Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy came out.
The brilliant Kenneth Branagh brings Mankell's Kurt Wallander to life and I'm so thrilled to hear he's making another season!
Wallander is a great series!

The Wallander series are loaded with deep story lines and the twists and turns anyone would expect from this genre of tv show. You won't be disappointed.

If you like any type of police procedural, or mystery, or suspense, you owe it to yourself to watch this show. Fans of Robert Wilson and similar authors will love this show --- I did.
