I went to the premier and met Keith Moon and Pete. I was totally hyped when this movie was released. I saw this twice at The Ziefgeld. At the time, I did enjoy the film. The original LP is one of my favorite recordings of all time. I find the film unwatchable today. It is over the top, and in parts, feels amatuerish. The music is good but none of the soundtrack surpasses the original

I love this film, and rented it on AppleTV through iTunes. It will not let me play it, however!

The Perfect Version of this Classic! I just wish they would add the Original Soundtrack Recording, too.

The ending where they do listening to you is the best part !!

Tommy is a timeless classic like Hair ,and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Rent this movie first... Some people, such as myself, don't like musicals. This one is GREAT! Plus, let's face it, even though she's old enough to be my mother, Ann-Margaret was a SEXY BEAST in this film.

It's a mixed bag--some of it is very campy, but there are some musical performances that are topnotch: Elton John's version of "Pinball Wizard", and Clapton's version of "Eyesight to the Blind" was good enough that he performed it whie touring in the 70's. ANy Roger Daltry was probably in his vocal prime while this was recorded.
