It is a good movie that, I believe, missed a lot of opportunities to be a great comedy. Garner carries the movie with the help of some of the cast, but the screenwriting just wasn’t there to make this what might have been a great movie and comedy.

Love james garner, but this movie was a let down

Enjoyed Support Your Local Sheriff recently. This promised to be similar. Yes, it was similar but was totally irritating. We turned it off. Had we seen this first, we never would have considered Sheriff. This was that much worse. I would give it zero stars if that were an available choice

"Support Your Local Gunfighter" is a good movie, although not as good as "Support Your Local Sheriff." A fun movie, though, and worth watching on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

One of my favorite movies from when I was a kid...my brother dragged me kicking and screaming to the theatre to see Support Your Local Sheriff, and I loved it, and still do to this day. This sequel was also a lot of fun, but I look forward to the store adding the original. If you like Maverick, or westerns that don't take themselves too seriously, this is a great movie choice for you!
